Sending distribution policy
Every MAILALO send is spread over time according to the recipient count and the recorded reputation evidence. Distribution is enforced server-side and cannot be bypassed by a customer. No window is a delivery guarantee, and no sending speed makes a list lawful.
The four distribution tiers
| Recipients | Behaviour | Duration | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 – 10,000 | Ordinary progressive sending | Progressive, no bursts | Per-provider queues and the Reputation Guard are always active. |
| 10,001 – 100,000 | Controlled per-provider waves | Indicative operational duration (about 2–6 hours) | Continuous reputation monitoring and adaptive throttling. |
| 100,001 – 500,000 | Mandatory distribution | 4, 6 or 8 hours | 4 hours only with a warmed pool, valid authentication and healthy reputation; 6 hours with an intermediate history; 8 hours for a new sender, missing metrics or uncertain signals. |
| above 500,000 | Mandatory distribution | 24, 48 or 72 hours | 24 hours only with a warmed pool and healthy reputation; 48 hours with an intermediate history; 72 hours for a new sender, missing data or uncertain signals. The fail-safe is always the longest window. |
Provider monitoring
Gmail, Microsoft, Yahoo/AOL and other providers each have their own queue, drained at an even pace with jitter so no single provider receives an abnormal spike.
Reputation Guard
Bounces, complaints, deferrals and throttling signals are observed while the campaign runs. The pace can be reduced or paused automatically.
Absent data is never read as good reputation: without evidence, the most cautious window applies.
Safety stops
Provider responses 421, 429, 451 and 4.7.x, rising bounces or complaints, unsubscribe activity and SPF, DKIM or DMARC problems can extend any expected duration.
Authentication
SPF, DKIM and DMARC must be valid for the sending domain. When authentication is not fully proven, the longest window in the tier applies.
Unsubscribes and suppression
Unsubscribe requests and suppression lists are always honoured and take precedence over any schedule.
Consent and a lawful basis remain mandatory: distribution governs the technical pace, not the lawfulness of a send.
Overrides
Customers cannot switch distribution off. Only a MAILALO operator or administrator can apply a justified override, which is recorded in the audit trail.
